Girl & The Goat

So I know how hyped Girl & the Goat is… but oh my goodness. Top meals/experiences I have ever had.

Remember how excited I was for Au Cheval and it was a total let down and I didn’t even write about it? Well this was not the case here.

Girl & the Goat exceeded my expectations 100 percent. I had a 10:30 pm Saturday reservation that I made almost 8 weeks ago…

That’s how incredible this place is. The music is trendy but not super loud. Everyone that is surrounding you are the type of people who have mad love and appreciation for food. Being surrounded with like-minded people in that type of setting is honestly amazing.

We started with the Hamachi crudo. I love me some raw fish guys. This was a great starter. A little sweet and spicy.img_1597

Moved on to some oysters… these were the perfect size and flavor. Dressed with a house mignonette sauce.

Next, seared tuna. It has the best texture and flavor. This was one of my favorites of the night.

Naturally, I made Polina get the bucatini because we all know that is my fave. (Side note anyone else feel like bucatini is a trendy noodle as of lately? My dad and I have been eating it since I was a little with our Bolognese.) The noodles were perfectly cooked, the pork shoulder was tender and flavorful, but not fatty. Bravo.

Last, the scallops. These were full, large and oh so beautiful. These came with a smoked beet and crunchy pistachio that literally melted in your mouth. These were the perfect way to round out the meal.

We ended the night with the honey & pine nut tart. Now let me tell you- I am not a dessert person and I also went with the servers selection over the one I had originally picked out and boy was I blown away. This tart was buttery and flakey. Right now, that was the best dessert I think I have ever had. I haven’t stopped talking about that dessert since we left there.

Everything about this place exceeded my wildest expectations. I can’t wait to go back and be more adventurous, to try the more daring menu options… until then.
