I have been wanting to go to RPM Italian for like- EVER.
Because I have been dreaming about the pasta and running into Giuliana Rancic and becoming instant BFFS with her.
We had a very late start to the evening- like sleeping off a hangover that I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. Finally got ready for a 10:00 dinner at RPM Italian. Let me tell you, it was packed at 10 pm on a Saturday and had the best swanky vibes. Like I wouldn’t expect anything else, big beautiful bar with sophisticated decor, modern lighting and pops of greenery from the large plants.
We sat at the bar and started off with a few cocktails (Spritz & Giggles) that was refreshing and cute. It made me come back to life after thinking I would never recover.

Ordered the fritto misto, that was delicious, tender, fried calamari, shrimp, tomatoes and broccolini. SO tasty and an easy crowed pleaser.

Moved onto another drink followed by the smoked ricotta agnolotti with shaved truffles. This dish was on the smaller size, but it was SO tasty. The little pasta pillows melted in your mouth. Anything with shaved truffles on top is pure magic to me.

Last but not least, the Mama DePandi’s Bucatini. Boy was this good, basically haven’t stopped thinking about it since Saturday. It had a light pomodoro sauce and fresh basil on top. Super simple, but so amazing. I wish we would have had the stomach capacity to eat more but sadly, that was it.
Oh, I ended with an old fashioned… I am starting to adapt to the “Illinois” OF vs my classic “Wisconsin” old fashioned. (Dare I say it, I like the Illinois version of an OF more?)

I can’t wait to be back and enjoy more from RPM Italian.
