Hi guys, I know it’s been a hot minute since I’ve been able to post but let me tell you- moving and uprooting your life is weirdly time consuming.
I have all my things unpacked and I am finally settled in. Although I haven’t found my “big girl job” I am enjoying some downtime in my new apartment in my favorite city.
Have you ever felt like things are finally falling into place? That’s how I feel right now.
I am obviously shifting my focus onto being a Chicago foodie now. My first night in the city, I needed some comfort Italian food and house made pasta, so I had went to Bar Siena.
Little did I know (!!!) it was half off industry night. So ALL food and drinks were half off if you worked in the service industry. I learned this helpful bit of information from chatting with the two bartenders.
I loved the vibe of the place, the music was current and the atmosphere was pretty with a giant structure hanging overhead of the bar with strings of lights wrapped around.

I had the octopus and shishito peppers as an appetizer which was tender and flavorful. It had bursts of charred lemon and a Calabrian chili vinaigrette, it was perfection.

I had the ravioli as my entree. I needed some pasta in my life after all the moving, obviously. The ravioli was homemade, filled with sweet corn and had chiodini mushrooms and truffle butter. It was like warm, little pillows of heaven.

The cocktails were amazing and the service was equally amazing. Definitely going to be my Monday spot.

Wish my wallet luck! Cheers to following my dreams in the Windy City.
