I have been talking about making this post for a while now. There are a few boards that I don’t have pictures of (sadly) on here but you just gotta trust me that they’re amazing and perfect.
Shout out to all the friends that have gone out to eat with me over the past few years and the first thing I did was take a picture of our appetizer before letting them eat it. You guys are the real homies.
Number one on my list goes to Tre Rivali at the Kimpton. This cheese board I have had a few times now and rotates seasonally. Most people say wow $17 for a cheese board, that is pricy. BUT not only do they have a crazy amazing selection of soft, semi soft and hard cheeses, it comes with all these other little amazing things. Like honey, fresh fruit and little crackers. 10/10 would recommend. Oh and not to mention, Tre Rivali has one of the most beautiful sidewalk patios in Milwaukee. So this is the real deal. Even the inside dining room is something to be impressed by.
No. 2 Balzac. Did you guys really think I wouldn’t mention Balzac in this post? If I had a dollar for every time someone said to me “Oh, you’re at Balzac… again?” I could probably afford like 10 cheese boards. Balzac yet again hits home for having a classic rotating cheese board, including soft-hard cheeses. Delicious. Not to mention they have a mini version of their cheese board on the happy hour menu for $5.
No. 3 (Not pictured) Blu at the Pfister Hotel. I wish I had a picture of this flight but it was so dark when I went there, I remember attempting to take a picture of the cheese but failed. They have this amazing cheddar cheese flight. It comes out in this little milk crate with three different cheddar cheeses paired with chocolate, drunken strawberries and an apple chutney. Different and amazing.
No. 4 DORSIA. A few weeks ago I had mentioned how much I loved this place. The cheese board was so pretty and equally tasty and reasonably priced. GET TO DORSIA ASAP.
No. 5 San Giorgio’s, yum. I have also blogged about this place previously. Nothing like loading up on some cheese before you have pizza. Not to mention, they have an amazing Italian wine list. Perfect for date night. Make sure you sit in front of the pizza making window, it’s so cool to watch them hand make everything right in front of you.
No. 6 Distil. (Not pictured) Now you guys know I am an active SURG group lover, considering I work for the company. But, Distil just revamped their happy hour menu and recently added a KILLER cheese plate for $10. Distil is one of the best bourbon bars in Milwaukee but they also have the best craft cocktails too. Highly recommend if you’re trying to impress your friends with a trendy local place right downtown. The bartenders really know what they’re doing.
No. 7 Tenuta’s tucked away in Bay View, has spectacular Italian food. So this wasn’t a cheese board that I had necessarily BUT it was this amazing creamy burrata with basil parsley oil, crostini and speck ham. Not many places in Milwaukee offer fresh burrata (mozzarella’s creamy cousin) and when it’s paired with fresh herbs and olive oil, you cannot go wrong.
No. 8 Onesto. (Not Pictured) The neat thing about this cheese board is that it comes per person. So no matter how many people you’re with, you are each able to enjoy a good amount of cheese per person. Onesto also has these incredible jars. That have these delicious, spreadble, cheesy-goodness inside them. Oh, they also have 1/2 off wine bottles Monday-Friday from 2-5 pm. YOU’RE WELCOME MILWAUKEE.
No. 9 Wolf Peach. Oh, my darling next door neighbor, Wolf Peach. How I love you so. Everything here is amazing. A spread of three seasonal cheeses, some fresh jam and honey comb. Boom. Perfect. Nothing like wolf peach in the summer time too. They have a spectacular view of Milwaukee from their patio. & not to forget their craft cocktail selection is amazing. The Wolfhound is my fave.
No. 10 Last but not least- Iron Horse. (Not Pictured) This cheese board however, is rather expensive for what you’re getting at $21 but it’s such a pretty board. And if you’re not paying, who cares right? 😉 It comes out on this slate that has the different names of the cheeses written in chalk. Like how cute right? The Iron horse is also known for making amazing cocktails. Be sure to try a Korbel brady Old Fashioned while you’re there. Simple, classic and so Wisconsin.
But if anyone wants to come over for cheese and wine at MY house, I made a super mean cheese board if I do say so myself.

Here we’ve got- Salami, Creamy Toscano Cheese Soaked in Syrah, (both from Trader Joe’s) peppered havarti and classic manchego. (From Fresh Thyme) Olive oil drizzled toasted baguette, grapes and pretzel chips.
xx for now.
