Eden

So I have been going out to eat so much ***hahaha

My bank account is all Uber Transactions, Grub Hub deliveries and dinners with my friends.

I had the BEST date night with one of my old high school friends Lauren who happens to live in the city too. Not only has living here been such a blessing but I have been reconnecting with old friends and making so many new friends! I honestly thought I would be homesick, but I have never felt more at home in a city with over 2.7 million people.

Back to what’s important… Eden. This honestly was in my top 5 restaurants and meals I have ever had.

They opened late in 2017 and have been killing it ever since. We had a 8:45 reservation on Valentine’s day and it was packed. The ambiance was beautiful, soft and earthy. Loud but not obnoxious.

We were so lucky to sit at the Chefs Counter that overlooked the busy kitchen. The staff was amazing and entertained all my questions and requests.

So I wish I had a better way to describe the food- like this is one of my first dining experiences where I can’t pick out the flavors so it was so much fun for me to try these new and exciting ingredients.

My Favorite part about Eden was their story-

We started off with the beef carpaccio. Tender, soft, delicious. It had a pepper puree, smoked green goddess sauce and salt and vinegar crisps. 10/10

Then the brussels… this had an apple cider vinaigrette, apple, celery root puree, maple, almonds, salami crumble and mustard seeds. Super crispy and lovely.

After a few rounds of cocktails we ordered a bottle of Malbec so we needed to order some bread to soak up the booze, oops. Below: Back to Basics

Not just any bread, it was bread sent from the wonderful bread gods. With fresh olive oil and cultured butter.

Moved on to the beef and veal lasagna. This was truly the most wonderful and unique lasagnas I have ever had. This was one of our favorites, so please indulge yourself in the many, many layers.

Last course was the butcher steak, this combination of flavors was unreal. It was crusted in a sort of coffee ground mixture so you got this bittersweet flavor from the coffee, then there’s this smoked egg yolk that was crazy flavorful. Broccolini, (y’all know that’s my FAVE veggie.) and wild mushrooms to accompany the steak. Just a beautiful mixture of flavors and textures.

Oh and naturally we got dessert- this gooey warm cookie and ice-cream delight.

Eden, you were a treat. I will be back. Thank you Lauren for accompanying me and being open and willing to try whatever I wanted to order. xoxo
